ASE Alumni Feature: Rodney Baloyi

Welcome to the first edition of Academy of sound Engineering's Alumni Features

 

RoneeDeep AKA Matimba Rodney Baloyi is a sound engineer, musician and style influencer, from the city of Johannesburg. His musical sound is aimed at expressing ideas and emotions significantly through the elements of rhythm, melody, harmony, and colour.

RoneeDeep has recently been included on a remix project called Time Off ft Ammo Moses for Simbad AKA SMBD. RoneeDeep is also included on other remixes and has a project he released in 2020 called Soulution under Grooveland Records.

 

House Music Journey

 

RoneeDeep fell in love with house music at a young age and started producing after receiving his first desktop computer in 2008. RoneeDeep began his music career in 2016 after completing his sound engineering course at ASE. RoneeDeep's music has been inspired by Black coffee, Louie Vega, Chymamusique, Josh Milan, Da Capo, Atjazz, and many more. He strives to portray a message of hope, love and gospel in his music.
