1. What is Mental Health?

Mental health is your emotional, psychological, and social well-being and is just as important as your physical health. Managing stress can take a lot of effort, and with help, it can become more manageable. One in four adults experiences at least one diagnosable mental illness per year.

Mental Health is your general state of well-being and state of mind. Something that should be looked after.

Take a look at this video from the World Health Organisation (W.H.O):

2. What is Mental Illness (Why should I care)?

Living with a mental condition may be a challenge. However, most diagnosable conditions are treatable. It is useful to take into consideration that how we feel and think is central to the way we live our lives. Being aware of your emotional/ psychological state of well-being can help you maintain your daily activities, fulfilling relationships, including coping with stress.
Mental Illness or condition is something that disrupts your mental state of mind. And interrupts how you feel, think, communicate and behave.

Feeling informed about your Physical health and Mental Health can benefit your overall capacity to function in society, at home, and at work. Sometimes just being aware of your mental health is enough to contribute to your overall personal growth.
