Young Creatives to be Showcased in Maboneng

Joburg – Stylin’ Dredz to showcase Creative Conquerors in Maboneng on 5 July. Young creatives from Johannesburg will be showcased at an exhibition of their respective creative works at the Fox Junction, 14 Alexander St, Ferreiras Dorp, Johannesburg, on 5 July.

Known as the Creative Conquerors, the exhibition will feature David Tshabalala, Doo Wap, Lady X, Leeroy Jason, Lufuno Sathekge and Oscar Ncube, all of whom have conquered what others would call insurmountable obstacles in life to be where they are today.

Tshabalala is a designer, illustrator and business founder of Suketchi Branding and Design, who fluidly manoeuvres between the print and digital worlds and has done design works of T-shirts for stores such as Mr Price.

Khetsiwe Morgan, better known as DJ Doo Wap, who is half British and half South African, is a graduate of the Academy of Sound Engineering. She is a stylist, hair artist, public figure and live mix DJ that dabbles in hip-hop, trap, crime and bass, who describes herself as an adventurous creative who’s constantly inspired by her surroundings.

Lady X is an Eastern Cape-born Jazz musician from the Wits School of Arts, who describes herself as born to perform and a natural entertainer, who holds an honours degree from The Vega School of Brand Leadership majoring in creative brand management and hence, manages herself.

Lee-Roy Jason is a photographer who specialises in stills, documentary, portraits and commercial subject photography and is an avid traveller who is based in Johannesburg. He says he has a natural instinct for visually telling and artistically documenting African stories in South Africa’s remote areas.

Lufuno Claire Sathekge, also known as Ms Brown, is a stylist and wardrobe specialist, who has done work for V-Entertainment, Massive Music on 1Magic, the new Motswako on SABC2 and also styles for TV commercials and magazines on a freelance basis.
